Preventing Sending e-mail to Unsubscribed Recipients

When a recipient receives an e-mail and unsubscribes (opts-out), that recipient's data remains in your database. It is marked as an "unsub." Each cell can specify how to handle unsubs in the chosen audience lists. It cannot, however, override the suppression lists chosen in the Suppression section.

To specify how to handle unsubs, select the appropriate value from the Unsub Suppression drop-down list.

 Value

Description

Suppress all Unsubs

Prevents sending the cell to any recipient marked as an unsub. Use this option for all promotional campaigns.

Suppress Global Unsubs and Domains

Prevents sending the cell to specific domains in addition to recipients marked as unsubs.

You can maintain a list of domains to avoid, for example, competitors.

Suppress Master Unsubs

Prevents sending e-mail to recipients who are identified as unsubscribed.

No Suppression

Sends the cell to all recipients in the chosen audience lists, regardless of whether or not they are marked as unsubs.

Use this option only in compliance with e-Dialog and CAN-SPAM Act policies. For example, if an unsub makes a purchase on your Web site, you can send that unsub a transactional message.

Note: All e-mail addresses to whom you attempt to send a cell are included in eReports.
