Sending the Final e-mail

To send the final e-mail:

  1. Specify the data file to use.

You can use the data file you created in the Export Tab to send the cell or create a new data file just prior to sending the cell. If it is likely that the client audience list has changed since you exported the data file, create a new data file. e-Dialog requires that you export a new data file if the existing data file is three days old or older.

    • To use the data file you created in the Export Tab, click Use this Export for the mailing.
    • To create a new data file just prior to sending the cell, click Clear this data and re-export at drop time. Ensure that you allow sufficient time to create the new data file before sending the cell.

Note: Re-exporting at drop time does not allow you to repeat the proof process and thus increases the risk of errors in the mailing.

  2. (optional) Change the date and time to send the cell.

The date and time that appears in the Execute Tab is the one you set in the Scheduled Date section of the Configuration Tab.

To change the date and time to send the cell, click the calendar control, and then click the date and time you want to use.

When you change the date in the Execute Tab, you have to click Execute to have the change take effect.

  3. Approve sending the cell using the data file specified, at the date and time specified by clicking Ok to Launch.
  4. Send the cell by clicking Execute.

Note: Clicking Execute sends the cell at the date and time specified, not immediately.

Campaign Builder returns you to the Mailing Setup page.

After You Execute

  • Once a metered mailing has begun, you can change it to full speed. However, if a non-metered mailing has begun you can not apply a meter queue; you must cancel and restart the mailing.
  • You can pause and resume the actual deployment of e-mail messages.
  • You can cancel the actual deployment of e-mail messages. Contact your e-Dialog Account Team about returning the cell to Setup mode.
  • Once a cell has been executed (mailed), it cannot be modified and reused. Instead, create a clone (identical copy) of the cell, make modifications, and mail the new cell.

If you return to the Execute tab after a cell has been executed, the data file radio button is set to Use this Export for the mailing regardless of what was selected when you executed the cell. This may be misleading but makes no difference because you cannot execute the cell again.

Understanding Reports

A mailing generates a set of reports that are sent to the Error Notification and/or Client Notification e-mail addresses as specified in Advanced Settings. These reports include:

  • All mail is sent
  • Processing is complete
  • On Demand Refresh
