About Campaign Builder

e-Dialog Campaign Builder™ provides a comprehensive campaign management solution that enables you to create and send highly relevant e-mails: easy configuration and set-up, powerful custom publishing tools, seamless audience selection, and superior proofing functionality.

Campaign Structure

Campaign Builder uses a three-tiered campaign structure:

  • Campaigns

    Campaigns contain mailings.

  • Mailings

Mailings contain cells and always belong to one campaign. By cloning and editing mailings, you can ensure that all mailings within a campaign maintain the same look and feel.

  • Cells

Cells are where e-mails are configured. Audiences, content, links, symbols, proofing, and deployment all happen within a cell. Each cell belongs to a single mailing and a single campaign.

Once a cell has been mailed, it cannot be modified and reused. Instead, create a clone (identical copy) of the cell, make modifications, and mail the new cell.

This three-tiered campaign structure allows you to:

  • Organize and separate automated campaigns that have hundreds of mailings and cells
  • Clone mailings and/or cells for ongoing campaigns

Process Overview

Although Campaign Builder offers flexibility in the campaign building process, you generally follow a step-by-step process that includes the following:

  1. Create a Campaign.
  2. Create Mailings within a Campaign.
  3. Create Cells within a Mailing.

You use the tabs in Campaign Builder to complete each of the following steps to create cells.

    1. Configure Cells. (Configuration Tab)
    2. Define the Target Audience for a cell. (Audience Tab))
    3. Create Content for a cell. (Content Tab)
    4. Modify Links and Set Up Reporting Options (Links Tab)
    5. Define Dynamic Content to Merge into a cell, including rules that specify what content to merge in what circumstances. (Symbols Tab)
    6. Create the Audience Export File, which is the data file that includes the list of e-mail recipients for a cell. (Export Tab)
    7. Proof the e-mails that include sample audience and merged content. In this step, you send live proofs of e-mails to internal and external proofers. (Proof Tab)

Send the Final e-mail. (Execute Tab)
