Using the Master Table of Contents and Index

Vertica Systems, Inc. recommends that you use the Master Table of Contents and Index to read the documentation. It includes the complete documentation set with global Table of Contents, Index, and Search tabs. On a cluster host, this is located in:

/opt/vertica/doc/HTML/Master/index.htm

Using the Table of Contents

When you open the index.htm file, the navigation frame at the top left corner of the window looks something like this:

To use the Contents tab to browse through the entire documentation set:

Click the plus sign (+) next to a book icon to expand the contents of that book. The topics contain live links to topics in other books within the documentation set, including glossary terms.
Click the book name to open the book title page. Then click Open This Book in a New Window. When you read a book this way, the topics contain live links to topics in that book but not to topics in other books.

Using the Index

Most of the index is automatically generated from topic headings and may not include the specific item you are looking for. In that case, please use the client-side search engine, as described in Searching for Information.
